Volume 5 contains the trial of William Kain in 1830 in the Midland District for the murder of John Rodolph Couche, the trial of Cornelius A. Burley that same year in the London District for the murder of Constable Timothy C. Pomeroy, and several trials of indigenous men, including Sampson Catlet in the Western District in 1830 for killing a cow with the intent of stealing the carcass, and of Shawshawwinabee in the Home District in 1831 for the murder of Joseph Vasseur.
